The student symposium titled “Current Issues and Professional Ethics in Translation,” organized by the Department of Translation and Interpreting at Kütahya Dumlupınar University, was successfully held on June 3, 2025.

During the event, fourth-year students presented their semester research projects prepared for the course “Current Issues and Professional Ethics in Translation,” taught by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Muzaffer Derya SUBAŞI. The symposium aimed to enhance students’ academic awareness and help them develop a critical perspective in Translation Studies.

The presentations addressed topics such as different theoretical approaches to translation, the impact of artificial intelligence on translation, issues of cultural transfer, and translation ethics. The question-and-answer sessions following each presentation fostered an interactive and engaging discussion environment among participants.

At the end of the symposium, certificates of participation were presented to all contributing students. Closely followed by the academic staff of our department, the event made a significant contribution to students’ academic development and professional awareness.
