MISSION

The mission of our department is to educate qualified translators who are competent in a wide range of fields—including law, economics, literature, technical and scientific studies, medicine, political science, finance, international relations, media and communication—and who are able to perform written and oral translations between English and Turkish at national and international levels. We aim to train professionals who possess strong linguistic awareness, research skills and ethical values, and who are well-equipped to meet the growing needs of the translation and interpreting sector.

To achieve this, our program combines theoretical and practical training in areas such as written and oral translation, linguistics, literature, culture and criticism, academic writing, effective speaking and communication. The curriculum is further enriched with interdisciplinary courses from fields such as sociology, history, archaeology, health, technology, international trade and politics, as well as German and French as second foreign language options. These courses help students broaden their cultural background and develop advanced translation skills.

Our vision is to become one of the leading higher education institutions in Türkiye in the field of English Translation and Interpreting, and to contribute to the economic and cultural development of both our country and region through the qualified translators and academic studies we produce.
